Birthday Party

We held Madeline's 1st birthday party at my parent's pool and pool house. The theme was Celebrating a Year of Firsts with a little Dr. Seuss here and there. I had pictures of all Madeline's first all around the party as decorations and a little explanation by them. You can see a couple of them as the centerpiece on the food table. We, of course, had chick-fil-a chicken nuggets! Here are the homemade cupcake favors for all the guests with a little thank you note on each of them.
The big table outside with some of Madeline's first pictures...First bath, First trip to the St. Arnold's Brewery, First Crawfish boil, First time to the Renaissance Festival, First time in her baby carrier.
I lined the walk way to the backyard with tons of windmills. Madeline had to walk up to each one of them and watch it spin! Here is the sign in table. This is the same book that was used at the Houston party and the same one was that used at my first baby shower. Also you can see the dress, bib, and party hat that mommy got from Esty with Madeline's name on them. And of course more firsts, First night alive at home, First time swinging in the backyard, First time putting her feet in the sand, First time camping, First time brushing her teeth, First trip to Disney World, First plane ride, and First time taking a pacifier.Madeline's smash cake...it matches the cupcake on her dress. And then in the back you can see the big cake. It has little pictures of things that represent all of Madeline's firsts. Also here are a couple professional pictures...one from nine months and the other is a newborn picture.

Thanks Mrs. Tracey and Mr. Brent!

Since they were not going to be able to make it to Madeline party on Saturday they came to spend time with her on Friday night and brought her a present.
A bubble machine!!!!!!!!! We love bubbles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And a dinasour with different shapes and colors that sings songs! Madeline just loves this thing and is able to take the shapes off and put them back on again! It is one of her favorite toys!!!!

Off to Lafayette we go...

But first we stopped at daddy's office to see his co-workers!Madeline loved running through daddy's office hallways by herself!
She wore herself out!

Two more presents!

There was a present waiting at home for Madeline when we got home on the Thursday night after her birthday. It was from Mrs. Jessi, Mr. Rys, and Ethan. What is it? What is it?
YAY!!!!! Something to make lots of noise with! haha Madeline loves all the different parts that go to the drum!
Maw Maw and Paw Paw got Madeline her big girl car seat a while back but we just hadn't used it yet. On the Friday morning before Madeline's Lafayette birthday party daddy put her new car seat into the car.
Madeline loves that she can see everything including mommy and daddy in the front seat!

Birthday party at school!

We brought some cookies to day care to celebrate Madeline's birthday on that Thursday.
Sorry, no pictures of the actual birthday party, but her teachers said the kids had a great time with the cookies!

Coloring

We went to eat at Lupe Tortilla the night after Madeline's birthday and she got colors and actually colored a little for the first time. She may have chewed on them a little too! :)

A day at the mall with the girls

The day after Madeline's birthday Maw Maw, Carly, Madeline, and mommy all went to the mall to play for awhile. Madeline loves the tree playground, so we went there first.
Here is Carly and Madeline playing on the big flowers!
Maw Maw and her only two granddaughters!Next we decided to go look in the pet store...Madeline LOVED it!!!!!!!!!! I think we might have a couple pets when she is olders! Madeline and Carly rode on a couple of the little cars in the mall. This was her first time to ride these and she really enjoyed them! This is a little pink ice cream truck! This is a big apple. She would laugh so hard when Maw Maw would knock on the window! Madeline is at an age were she wants to do things by herself...and that even means pushing her stroller! It was really funny b/c she was pushing all by herself and you couldn't see her from the front so people wondered how the stroller was moving! This was Madeline's first time on the carousel and she absolutely loved it!!!!
After this ride Madeline passed out in her stroller and slept the whole way home and then some. We wore her out!!!!!!!!!!!
