Sticker Fun, D, E, and F Day!

Today Madeline got to play with stickers! We first put down the D, E, and F stickers and then time for the fun ones! She had some stickers that Gi gave her for Easter to play with first. Then she got to stick Princesses and Toy Story 3 characters all over!

Madeline really enjoyed playing with the stickers and actually only tried to put them on the paper. Mommy was pleasantly surprised!

Dancing!

Ok so mommy and daddy will not be winning the "Best Parents Award" after this afternoon activity, but hey we all had fun doing it!

Yes, Madeline is dancing on the island in our kitchen...probably not the best idea!

First Day of "Learning"

So mommy decided that she would start trying to "teach" Madeline a little. It is not like we didn't learn stuff before, but now we have a certain activity and letters for the day. Today we finger painted and learned about the letters A, B,and C. Notice the A, B, and C that mommy painted on the page!

This was perfect paint for Madeline b/c it only showed up on the paper. No messy clean up! Oh and since it didn't show up on her skin she wasn't into painting all over herself...which made mommy happy!

Madeline decided to use the sponge you use to clean off your finger as a painting utensil instead. Creative!!!!After Madeline was done she went and checked out all of her artwork. She was SO excited with herself!

After we cleaned up we started working on the computer. Mrs. Laura (Parker's mommy) had told mommy about a website (www.starfall.com) that is great for learning letters, numbers, and shapes. Madeline and mommy went through the little program for the letters A, B, and C. Madeline enjoyed watching them for about 20 minutes. Then it was off to read and sing songs. We had a fun filled afternoon. Tomorrow will be fun with stickers and the letters D, E, and F. It is like Sesame Street at The Dartez house! This blog is brought to you by the letters A, B, and C!

Playdate with Parker

Last week Madeline started talking about her teachers from MDO. Mommy felt bad b/c Madeline really seems to miss them! Mommy changed the subject from Ms. Ashley and Mrs. Lisa to Parker. Mommy emailed Parker's mommy to see if they could come play one day...and today was the fun day! The two girls had so much fun together...which kind of shocked the moms. They were so happy to see each other! They yelled and screamed and laughed a whole lot! Mommy is so glad that she invited them over. We will have to do that again before the summer is over!

Booster Seat!

It is offical...Madeline is out of a high chair. Today we went to Target and got Madeline a booster seat for home...and...she loves it!!!!!!
Lunch and supper were so much better today...mommy hopes it continues!!!!

Buggy Playdate!

Yesterday we went over to the Beene's house for a playdate. Mrs. Amber had a fun craft project for the kids to make. They colored on coffee filters and then she wet the filters. When the colors got wet they ran all down the rest of the filter. Then she dried them and put a clothes pin in the middle.Here is Madeline's butterfly!
Mrs. Amber also had made some bags for each child with Fruit Loops in them. Well...Madeline found them and went to town. This was her first experience with them and decided she loved them!

Mommy's Craving!

Saturday afternoon while daddy and Mr. Chris were making Apple Cider, Madeline and mommy went to GiGi Cupcakes! Mommy had been craving cake all day and so Madeline got to get one too. Madeline loved her "ice cream!" The mound of icing on the top does look a lot like ice cream!

Fun Times at the Mall!

Last Friday we went to play at the mall. Here is Madeline making a silly face...as usual! Madeline found a frog!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!After playing on the playground we went upstairs to see the animals. Mommy came really close to buying Madeline a frog!

Madeline has been watching her 1st year old video at least once a day. She LOVES to watch herself and to name everyone else in the pictures with her. Madeline is also learning the words to a lot of the songs and loves to sing along. Mommy and daddy are so glad that they made it for her!
Mommy and daddy have started working on her 2nd year of life video and will have it finished for her 2nd birthday party. Can't wait to show everyone!

Father's Day

Oops! Totally forgot to post about Father's Day...probably b/c we didn't celebrate it too much. Daddy did get to try out his new beer on that Sunday morning. I think he enjoyed that, but then he had to drive all the way back to Houston. (Don't worry, he just had a taste of the beer!) When we got back home Madeline gave daddy the present she had made him...a heart shaped box that said "I love daddy" she had painted. She even put her hand print on the bottom of it!

And so it starts!!!!

Mommy went into Madeline's room to get her clothes for the day. Madeline followed in there and open the draw and pulled out another outfit. She held onto them and didn't want to wear what mommy picked out. She is already fighting with mommy over clothes...great! haha

RAIN!!!!!!!!!!

It finally rained a good amount on Tuesday and Madeline was able to wear her rain coat and rain boots to dancing. I think she was a little confused b/c she kept telling me she was cold! Poor baby doesn't understand a rain coat b/c she hasn't ever had to wear one.

Total Bust!

Yesterday Madeline and mommy went to the library for the mobile zoo show. The show was WAY over Madeline's head...a little over mommy's too. The library lady kept fussing at Madeline to sit down, so needless to say we left really early. Mommy decided to leave before we got kicked out. Sooo, no cute pictures of Madeline with animals like mommy thought...no pictures period! Oh well...next week is a puppet show and maybe it will be better!

Mommy's checkup

Mommy had her 28 week checkup today at Nativiti and Madeline came along too. We were there for 2 hours so Madeline had lots of time to play with all the toys. She loved the My Little Pony! Madeline...AKA the new midwife!

Madeline was so good while mommy had her checkup for gestational diabetes!

Bye Bye Sandestin!!!!!!

We left around 1:30 on Saturday afternoon. Madeline slept for only about 2 hours...and watched TV the rest of the time. She was happy to see Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Dave in Baton Rouge. We slept at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's house that night and then headed back home on Sunday afternoon. We had a great time and look forward to many more trips to the beach!

The Big Kahuna!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday we went to the Big Kahuna on our way out of town. Mommy and daddy figured this would ware Madeline out and make her sleep the whole way home. Madeline had fun riding down the big frog slide with Carly. Then we went on the lazy river...only so that we could get to the other kiddie section!

Madeline and daddy went down a little slide off the side of the boat. Madeline got some sunscreen in her eyes so we went and sat down for a little while. Daddy went to get us some snacks and Madeline fell asleep in the mean time. Mommy let her sleep for about 10 minutes thinking she would wake up in a much better mood. It did help, but Madeline was still a little tired. After we ate a little snack we went to another part of the park. Madeline just enjoyed watching other people slide down...since she couldn't. :(

We continued on to another part where their were smaller slides for Madeline to ride on. She liked the little one a lot!

So then daddy decided to try the bigger one.

Well, on the way down Madeline flipped around and got on her tummy. She didn't like this and wouldn't go on anymore slides...

unless her daddy went with her. But then, of course, daddy got in trouble for double sliding. I don't know that we will be going back to The Big Kahuna anytime soon. They are Debby Downers!

On the way out we found a tattoo stand. Madeline had been wanting one, but then when we would get up to it she got scared. This time mommy and daddy decided just to get it done so that we didn't hear about it all the way home.

Saturday morning we went and got coffee and a smoothie for Madeline. She really does love her smoothies!!!!!!

Friday Funday!

Friday night we all went eat at Rum Runners. Madeline loved listening to the guitar guy and dancing. At first she just sat on daddy's lap, but then warmed up and started to dance by herself on the dance floor. She is so cute! Then we all went to the Village. Maw Maw and Alec rode the carousel with Madeline and then Aunt Melissa held her so she could see Carly, Alec, Austin, and Aunt Jeanne ride the machanical bull.

Madeline loved sitting outside of this little booth that made rock videoes of people. She was dancing for awhile to them. Aunt Jeanne decided that we needed to make one...So all the girls did! We all got up there and wore green sheets and sang to "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." Madeline didn't know what in the world was going on. Some of the boys (Paw Paw, Uncle Troy, Austin, Alec, and Brendan) got up there and sang to Super Freak after we did ours. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!!! This was a great last night for us!

Friday we decided to go back to the condo pool. Madeline had fun playing with a water gun! She also enjoyed splashing around in the beach entry pool!
