Sleep

Ok so we never know what we are going to get at night!!! Monday night Madeline woke up at 3am wanting to play and did for like 30 minutes! Then Tuesday night she woke up a little early on in the night and then slept (in mommy and daddy's bed) straight through until 6:45. Last night I put her down around 7:30. She woke up around 11:30 and I got her back to sleep around midnight in her co-sleeper. Then she woke up around 3:30 and wanted to nurse like she normally does, but I knew she was not really hungry b/c she ate so much yesterday. So instead of picking her up I kept giving her the pacifier and rubbing her head. I let her cry a little (that was hard!!!!), and about an hour later she went back to sleep and slept until 6:45. The first night she slept in her co-sleeper all night. YAY Madeline!!!!! I think we are going to try it again tonight!

Oh here is a picture of her new trick...busting out of her swaddle!

6 month Doctors appointment

Ok so we went in last Thursday for Madeline 6 months check up. Here are her stats:

Weight: 16 lbs 14.4 oz (75-90%)
Height: 25 3/4 inches (50-75%)
Head Circumference: 16 1/2 (25-50%)

He told us that we need to start getting the house babyproof. He said for us to crawl around on our hands and knees to see what all she could get into. He also told us the order in which he likes to handle teething...which is the method that we wanted to use too. Use Orajel as the LAST option! We will start with teething rings and then move on to Tylenol. If neither of those work then we are going to use teething tablets and then Ibuprofen. Hopefully one of the above will work b/c we have heard that no studies have been done on Orajel to see if it is ok to use on babies. Then he told me that I could start feeding her three times a day. So now we are doing cereal in the morning, fruit for lunch, and veggies for supper. Oh lastly Madeline got her second Pneumococcal shot. We are doing Dr. Sears schedule so she only gets one to two shots per visit instead of the three that they normally would give her.

Dr. Bhakta also signned off on Madeline daycare records, yep she is starting on Monday. :(

ER

Yes, we had our first visit to the ER on Saturday afternoon! Friday night daddy noticed a really bad rash on Madeline's bottom and tummy. We thought maybe it was b/c of Maw Maw's towel and didn't think much of it. Well Saturday afternoon mommy noticed that it was really bad all over her tummy, back, and neck. We called the nurse and she told us that since it was pin like dots we need to go to the ER. Mommy was so worried and wanted to go tell the nurses to hurry and take her back.
Madeline in the waiting room...rather lethargic! Look at her little hospital ancklet! :(Finally, after about 30 minutes they came and got us. The nurses just LOVED Madeline and begged us to let them take her home. We told them no we want to keep her. :) Then we got to see the doctor and she said that it was just a viral rash and to just take tylenol and rest. They gave her tylenol before we left and after a short little nap she felt much better. Yesterday she was still pretty needy and tired, but today she was much much better!
Mommy, of course, had to take pictures of her two hospital bracelets! LOL

Winnie the Pooh

Ok so I just want to remember the little things that make Madeline smile...like the word Poo. I just couldn't title this entry Poo, so I like to say Winnie the Pooh. Last week Madeline and daddy were taking a bath and P O 0 floated right next to each other and he said Poo. Well, Madeline thought that was so funny! So now daddy says it all the time. I know that it is not lady like and we will NOT be a house hold that talks about that kind of stuff, but for right now it is something that makes her laugh so we say...Poo!

Here is a picture of Madeline playing the the tub tonight. Her mommy taught her a new trick...climbing up the side of mommy and daddy's tub. Daddy is not to happy that mommy let her do this Saturday night b/c now she wants to climb up all the time! heehee

Mardi Gras

It has been awhile! We went to Lafayette for Mardi Gras and so I was either busy packing up for it or busy unpacking and recouperating from the trip. We had a great time!

Friday night Madeline spent the night with Aunt Missy while mommy and daddy went to Xanadu.Saturday we went to the children's parade at Cajun Field with daddy's family. Cousin Carly came with us and caught lots of stuff for Madeline while sitting on cousin Melissa's lap.Happy 1st Valentine's Day Madeline!!!! We got her a puppy dog that sings and flaps his ears. She loves it!!!!!!
That afternoon we went to Houma for a parade. Maw Maw and Madeline caught a football without even trying! It fell right there while we were not even looking...so weird! She had a little too much paradeing that day! After the Houma parade we hurried to Morgan City to see another parade and a bunch of family members. Madeline got to meet cousin Theresa for the first time. She, Katie, and Jacob were in from Georiga.Madeline LOVES to grab glasses and then eating them!!!!!! Thanks cousin Charlene for your glasses!!!!Monday afternoon we went to a crawfish boil at one of Uncle Ralph's friends. Gigi gave me my Valentine's Day present...a teddy bear that talks. Anut Doreen and cousin Jeanne helped Madeline open the present.Uncle Ralph and Madeline were both a little unsure about this situation! haha
Happy 1st Mardi Gras Madeline!!!!! She was all bundled up under her Mardi Gras dress b/c mommy was NOT putting a jacket over the dress! haha It was just way too cute! :) Sitting in Aunt Tanya's RV with cousin Natalie and Jenna. Then we went to the Bacon's Mardi Gras party and watched Mrs. Tracey and Mr. Brent past by in the Independance Parade.

We left Lafayette around 3:30 and got home around 7:30 with one stop to eat. We had a great time and I think Madeline enjoyed her first Mardi Gras. She LOVES beads!

You need to drink water girl!!!!

This is what I keep telling Madeline and she just will not listen! Her swimming teacher told me that she should be drinking a little water a day...well M just doesn't like it at all. We start putting it in a bottle. Mommy got to give Madeline her first bottle on January 18th. :)Then we decided to try a sippy cup on February 2nd and that has worked a little better, but not much!

So instead I just put a good amount of water in her food. One day she will like it...I hope!

Vegtables, Vegtables, and more Vegtables!

So January was the month of the Vegtables! We started Madeline on green beans (daddy's favorite) on her 5th birthday! I mixed them with a little bit of cereal. She liked them! Then on January 14th I gave her mommy's favorite for the first time...peas! On January 20th Madeline enjoyed carrots for the first time. Madeline found out that she is not much of a fan of squash on January 24th!
Last but not least she got some yummy homemade sweet potatoes on January 31st! I think over all her favorites are peas and carrots!
Oh and mommy is so proud of herself...this past Sunday she made somewhere around 30 veggie meals for Madeline and saved around $20. Daddy was very excited about that...of course!!!! :)
Now on to fruit!!!
